Designed Around Posture & Pressure Management
The Harmony was developed to provide excellent pressure management while supporting correct posture throughout the day. Good seating starts with pelvic stability, and the Harmony has been designed to help maintain an appropriate seated position while accommodating changing clinical requirements.
The chair can be adapted to accommodate a variety of postural challenges, including kyphosis, lordosis, pelvic obliquity, pelvic tilt, lumbar support requirements, adduction, slouching and forward sliding.
Because every chair is manufactured to order, dimensions and support options can be selected to suit the individual rather than forcing the individual to adapt to a standard-sized chair.
Pressure Care Options
The removable seat duvet provides easy access to the pressure-relieving cushion beneath. As standard, the Harmony is supplied with a supportive memory foam cushion, while upgrades are available for users with more complex pressure care requirements.
Optional gel cushions and alternating air systems can be specified to help support users who are at high risk of pressure damage or who require enhanced pressure redistribution.
Back Cushion Options
The Harmony is available with a choice of back cushion styles, allowing the chair to be tailored to individual comfort and postural requirements.
Available options include Waterfall, Vertical Two-Tier Drop, Fibre Lateral Support and Foam Lateral Support backrests. These different configurations allow clinicians, carers and users to select the level of support most appropriate for their needs.
The versatility of the back cushion options is one of the reasons the Harmony remains such a popular choice for specialist seating applications.
Mechanism Options
The Harmony is available with several mechanism options to suit different levels of mobility and positioning requirements. Choose from Single Tilt in Space, Dual Standard, Dual Tilt in Space or Single Tilt in Space Recline Only.
Tilt in Space mechanisms help redistribute pressure by maintaining body positioning while reclining. Dual Tilt in Space models also allow independent backrest adjustment, providing a greater range of seating positions. Dual Standard mechanisms keep the seat base fixed while the backrest and legrest operate independently.
If you’re unsure which mechanism is most suitable, our riser recliner mechanism guide explains the differences in more detail.
Healthcare Fabrics
The Harmony is upholstered using carefully selected healthcare fabrics designed for durability, comfort and hygiene.
Inner fabrics are vapour permeable Dartex materials, helping maximise the effectiveness of pressure-relieving cushions. Outer fabrics are supplied from the Highland range by Panaz as standard, providing a durable, attractive finish suitable for both domestic and healthcare settings.
