Adjustable Seating for Changing Needs
One of the standout features of the ProForm Contour is its ability to adapt as user requirements evolve.
Seat width, seat depth, arm height, footplate position and headrest settings can all be adjusted, allowing the chair to be tailored to individual needs. This makes it particularly valuable in care homes and healthcare settings where a chair may be used by multiple people over its lifespan.
Most adjustments can be completed without tools, enabling carers to respond quickly to changing postural, comfort and pressure care requirements.
*Headrest adjustments require an Allen key, which is supplied with the chair.
Pressure Management & Postural Support
The ProForm Contour has been designed to support users who spend extended periods seated and may be at risk of pressure damage.
Its modular design allows different seating and back support systems to be fitted depending on the user’s requirements. This flexibility can help improve comfort, support posture and simplify future upgrades if needs change.

Pressure Management Back Cushions
There is a choice of two interchangeable and adjustable back cushions, allowing the chair to be configured for different levels of support and comfort. Covers can be removed for cleaning and cushions can be repositioned to suit individual needs.
Pressure Management Seat Cushions
Four interchangeable seat cushions are available, each providing different pressure management characteristics. Additional cushions can be purchased to support shared-use environments or changing clinical requirements.
Padded Seat Chaise Overlay
The full-length chaise overlay helps reduce pressure points and minimise friction during recline. It is removable for cleaning and replacement when required.
Manual or Electric Operation
The ProForm Contour is available in both manual and electric versions.
The electric model includes a simple handset that operates the primary chair movements, while the manual model offers the same positioning capabilities through manual controls.
Both versions provide:
- Independent tilt in space movement
- Independent backrest recline
- Independent leg rest adjustment
This flexibility allows users and carers to achieve a wide range of comfortable and supportive seating positions.
Designed for Care Environments
The ProForm Contour incorporates a number of practical features designed to support everyday use within healthcare environments.

Foam Pad Headrest
The adjustable foam headrest provides comfortable support for the head and neck while allowing positioning changes to suit individual users.
Wing Handles and Back Handles
Ergonomic handles provide carers with a secure grip when manoeuvring the chair, helping improve control during transportation.
Heavy Duty Lockable Castors
Four heavy-duty castors enable smooth movement across a variety of floor surfaces, while the directional castor improves steering and manoeuvrability.
The chair can be moved safely even when reclined, making it particularly useful in care settings.
Dimensions & Weight Capacity
The Repose ProForm Contour offers a generous range of adjustments, allowing it to accommodate a wide variety of users.

Adjustments
Crafted with recyclability in mind, the ProForm Contour provides adjustability in several areas to accommodate changing needs and allow for reusability among other clients.
Headrest Depth Adjustment
The headrest on the ProForm Contour can be adjusted by up to 50mm (2″) using the provided Allen key. This helps to accommodate clients with conditions like curvature of the spine and ensure their head is still supported by the headrest. |
 |
Headrest Angle Adjustment
The angle of the headrest on the ProForm Contour can be easily changed using the provided Allen key. This helps to accommodate clients with conditions like curvature of the spine and ensure their head is still supported by the headrest. |
 |
Headrest Height Adjustment
The height of the headrest on the ProForm Contour can be altered by up to 100mm (4″) to accommodate a range of users. |
 |
Seat Depth
Two plungers can be located underneath the seat board that can be released to allow the entire back frame to slide backwards or forwards, which in turn enables the seat depth to be changed from 381mm (15″) up to 534mm (21″). This can accommodate clients with a larger gluteal shelf or users with a larger frame. |
 |
Seat Width
The outer arm panel can be removed to reveal plungers that can be released which allows you to pull the entire arm outwards. This increases the seat width of the ProForm Contour. The seat width measurement can be adjusted from 406mm (16″) to 559mm (22″). |
 |
Arm Height
The ProForm Contour’s arm height can be adjusted by removing the panel on the outer arm and releasing the plungers to achieve the desired arm height. This ensures the user’s arms are still fully supported if they exhibit a leaning posture. The arm height can be adapted from 165mm (6.5″) to 292mm (11.5″). |
 |
Height Adjustable Footplate
The footplate on the ProForm Contour comes as standard, and is equipped with height and angle adjustment capabilities.
The height of the footplate can easily be changed by pulling the release strap behind the leg rest. The seat to footplate length can then be altered from 495mm (19.5″) up to 610mm (24″). This ensures a wider range of clients can be catered to and their feet can be fully supported by the footplate whilst the chair is in use. |
 |
Angle Adjustable Footplate
The footplate on the ProForm Contour comes as standard, and is equipped with height and angle adjustment capabilities.
The footplate has three angle positions to accommodate for fixed flexion and to assist with maintaining the foot position for users with drop foot. It can be folded up against the leg rest if required for access with a hoist. |

Mechanisms
The ProForm Contour comes in either an electric or manual model, both of which allow for the following movements:
Independent Tilt In Space (TIS)
The Independent Tilt in Space works to counteract the effect of the person’s pannus. By having control over the angle of tilt you can adjust that person’s centre of gravity’ making them feel more comfortable, supporting the pannus, and reducing the feeling that they are being dragged forward by external forces.
The TIS movement allows the seat to back angle to remain the same whilst the whole seating system is tilted backwards, which means that the angle of the hips, knees and ankles are not affected during this movement. It also reduces the weight on the Ischial Tuberosities and redistributes the weight through the back. This constant back angle prevents shear and friction during movement.
This feature can also help when moving someone in a hoist and can support better pelvic positioning by optimising the use of gravity to position the user in the optimal position. |
 |
Independent Backrest Recline
The Independent Backrest Recline allows the person to maintain flexibility over their body’s position, particularly the amount of hip flexion, enabling them to maximise comfort as well as managing health needs. This unique feature allows the angle at which the TIS operates to be changed at any time.
The backrest can be independently reclined providing a range of back angles allowing for optimal position for comfort. The angle range is 90 – 135 degrees. |
 |
Independent Leg Rest Adjustment
The leg rest angle of the ProForm Contour can be changed independently and can move from 90 degrees to 150 degrees. This offers the user additional flexibility over positioning, allowing them to use it in conjunction with the recline feature to create the optimal posture for their body shape. |
