The Accora Configura Bariatric Chair is designed to provide exceptional comfort, pressure care and support for larger individuals. Available as either a Dual Standard Motor or Triple Motor Tilt-in-Space riser recliner, it combines high weight capacities with extensive seating adjustments, making it suitable for both home and healthcare environments.

Unlike many bariatric chairs, the Configura Bariatric offers a choice of seat widths, depths and heights, allowing it to be tailored to the individual. Large stocks are held to help minimise lead times, with upholstery available in the fabrics shown within the product images.

Dual Standard or Triple Tilt-in-Space?

The Configura Bariatric is available with two different mechanisms depending on your requirements.

The Dual Standard Motor version allows the backrest and leg rest to move independently while keeping the seat base in a fixed horizontal position throughout recline.

The Triple Motor Tilt-in-Space version introduces a tilting seat platform that maintains the relationship between the seat and backrest. This helps reduce friction and shear forces whilst improving comfort for individuals who find hip extension uncomfortable or who require enhanced pressure management.

Who Is The Configura Bariatric Suitable For?

The chair is particularly well suited to larger individuals who require a combination of pressure care, comfort and positioning support.

• Bariatric users up to 40 stone (255kg)
• Ambulant, semi-ambulant and non-ambulant users
• People with low to high pressure care requirements
• Individuals with neurological conditions
• Users with cardiac conditions
• People with kyphosis
• Those with lymphatic or oedematous legs
• Individuals at risk of pressure damage

However, it may not be suitable for individuals with highly complex postural requirements, fixed contractures or those requiring a chair that can be transported between rooms.

Pressure Care Features

The Configura Bariatric comes with a high-risk Visco memory foam seat cushion as standard, helping to distribute pressure more effectively during prolonged periods of sitting.

For users with existing pressure damage or very high pressure care requirements, the chair can be upgraded with the Allevia Cushionair system.

The alternating air cells inflate and deflate cyclically, helping redistribute pressure across the seated area. This upgrade is particularly beneficial for users with non-healing pressure ulcers, those at very high risk of skin breakdown or anyone who simply prefers the comfort of an alternating air system.

Warranty & Delivery

The Configura Bariatric Chair is supplied with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. Large stocks are typically held to help minimise lead times and delivery takes 10-14 days. Installation and a full demonstration, ensuring the chair is set up correctly and ready for use, comes as standard.
