Opera Signature Comfort Profiling Bed – Main Features
The Signature Comfort profiling bed has a wide range of features as standard. There are lots of accessories to enhance the use of your new bed too like a grab rail, patient pole, an overbed table and more.
All-In-One Height
This bed has an extensive height range. It raises up to a carer’s waist level to facilitate nursing on the bed and lowers close to the floor to ease getting in and out of bed. The exact height range is 245 mm – 730 mm from the lowest point, to the highest. Please note this is to the mattress platform.
Opera Signature Comfort Profiling Bed Mattress Platform
The mattress platform on the bed is fully profiling. The backrest raises to a near upright position for sitting up in the bed. The elevating knee-break and footrest provide postural support and improve circulation. There is a detailed description of each mattress option in the Mattress Options tab.

Easy-to-Use Handset
Your Opera Signature Comfort is operated by a premium, ergonomic handset with rounded edges and soft-touch buttons. The handset has a locking feature, allowing the operator to deactivate all or certain functions where there are safety concerns.
Homely Styling
The Opera Signature Comfort has been thoughtfully styled to be in-keeping with the home environment. The bed’s medical functionality is softened with a plush, upholstered surround that is customisable with headboard and fabric options.

Opera’s highly skilled craftsmen and upholsterers use only the finest materials. Upholstered here in Britain using high quality materials that balance durability with comfort and aesthetics.
Linen, Zinc and Anthracite are high quality wool fabrics and Sisal, Lichtgrau and Meteor are wipe clean, waterproof faux leathers.
***Only beds upholstered in either Linen, Anthracite or Meteor Leather and with an Emerald or Pearl design headboard are available for immediate despatch. Anything else and there is a 4-6 week production time.***

Pressure Risk Category: High
The Opera® Serene is designed for users with a high risk of developing a pressure sore. The mattress is foam which makes it a suitable preventative surface to those classified as high risk and very likely to develop a pressure sore.
Pressure Relieving CMHR Foam
The Opera® Serene is constructed from single grade CMHR foam which provides a soft lying surface for the user. The foam is castellated on both sides to ease profiling and variable size nodes enhance pressure relief.
Firmness: Soft/Medium
Rated as soft to medium firmness, the Opera® Serene is constructed of foam which contours to the user’s body. The firmness from the foam allows the required pressure relief to be applied to vulnerable areas of the skin.
Wipe-Clean Knitted Nylon PU Cover
The Opera® Serene has a PU coated cover made from a 2-way stretch, vapour-permeable knitted nylon. The water resistant cover has sewn seams and zip closure on three sides for foam access.
4-Way Turn
The Opera® Serene has a 4-way turn, this means the mattress can be re-positioned head to toe as well as overturned. In doing so this maximises the lifespan of the mattress and allows it to continue in preventing pressure sores to high risk users.
Audit Box with White Substrate Material
Opera® mattresses have an audit box printed on the cover to assist care operators in carrying out the recommended annual audits. White substrate material on the inside of the cover also helps operators identify any moisture breaches.

Pressure Risk Category: High/Very High
The Opera® Ultimate is designed for users with a high to very high risk of developing a pressure sore. The mattress is constructed of high density foam to provide comfort but essential pressure relief and helps to prevent reoccurring pressure sores.
Comfortable Layered Foam Construction
The Ultimate is constructed from a U-shape foam core with a castellated premium foam centre and high density foam base and edging. The centre foam offers comfort and pressure relief whilst the firm base and edge foam give stability and support.
Firmness: Medium/Firm
The Opera® Ultimate Mattress is medium to firm. The mattress gives the user support and stability and provides the needed pressure relief to very vulnerable areas of the skin that are prone to developing pressure sores
Supportive High-Density Edging Foam
The Opera® Ultimate has high-density edging foam that runs down either side of the mattress. This provides a firm, supportive edge that eases transferring on and off the mattress. The mattress is also able to return its original shape and distributes weight evenly.
Wipe-Clean Antimicrobial Cover
The wipe clean cover is impregnated with antimicrobial agents ensuring the mattress covers are resistant to bacterial and fungal growth. The 10,000ppm Chlorine resistance will resist damage even where chlorine builds up through multiple cleaning cycles.
Vapour-Permeable for Moisture Control
The presence of moisture is known as a subjective indicator of pressure ulcer development. Two-way stretch mattress covers with vapour-permeability allow for better micro climate control, thereby reducing moisture presence.

The Opera® Flo Air Mattress System is designed for the use for high risk users that are subject to developing pressure sores. It is also suitable to treat existing tissue damage because of pressure related sores and injury.
Alternating Therapy Air Cells
The Opera® Flo is made up of 16 air cells that alternate to redistribute pressure across the user’s body. The alternating air cells are powered by a pump unit which has weight adjustment.
Full Replacement System
The Flo is a full replacement mattress designed to be placed straight on a profiling bed base. It can be secured to the bed base by elasticated mattress retention straps.
Vapour-Permeable Cover
The Flo’s vapour-permeable PU cover means water resistance is combined with breathability. This helps skin integrity by reducing the retention of moisture and heat build-up.
Super Quiet Pump Unit
The Opera® Flo Air Mattress System is equipped with a Super Quiet Pump Unit. The minimal noise from the pump means users will not be disturbed when sleeping or be a nuisance.
