True Lay-Flat Positioning
The Integral Care Chair DX-FR features a patented design that achieves genuine lay-flat positioning. Unlike many care chairs that only partially recline, the DX-FR allows users to rest in a fully supported position for prolonged periods.
Additionally, SmartTilt technology intelligently manages the chair’s positioning to help prevent unintentional head-down Trendelenburg positioning. As a result, users benefit from enhanced comfort whilst carers can feel confident in the chair’s safe operation.
Pressure Care & Clinical Benefits
Pressure injury prevention is at the heart of the DX-FR’s design. The chair promotes immersion and envelopment, allowing pressure to be redistributed across a larger surface area. Consequently, pressure concentrations can be reduced, helping to lower the risk of pressure-related skin damage.
The adjustable foam matrix incorporates collapsible airflow chambers that help manage skin microclimate whilst improving pressure redistribution. Furthermore, adjustable outer chambers and movable foam cores allow the chair to be tailored to individual postural requirements.
A pressure-adjustable seating surface is also included as standard. This can be inflated using the integrated hand pump, allowing comfort and support levels to be adjusted to suit the individual user.
Optimal Positioning & Postural Support
Gentle contouring within the seating surface assists users in maintaining a comfortable midline posture. The lumbosacral contouring accommodates the gluteal shelf, encouraging users to sit fully back into the chair for improved positioning and immersion.
Within the backrest, a higher-density foam perimeter promotes stability and midline sitting. Meanwhile, movable foam cores allow support to be tailored according to individual postural requirements.
Swing-away backrest wings and armrests also make transfers easier for both carers and users. In addition, the generous 90° leg raise function can assist with lower limb oedema management and overall comfort.
